“Blogging is a key metaphor for interactivity, community-building, and genuine conversation: one to one, one to many, many to one, many to many.” This quote is found in the book Blog, which is writtin by David Kline and Dan Burstein. I found this idea very interesting because I have never even heard of anyone blogging before. If it such a key in community building why haven’t I heard more about it and more about people doing it? Now that I am aware of this key metaphor for communicating, it opens up a whole new way of talking.
Blogging is a whole new way to express one’s voice and to have the opportunity to be heard. “Years from now blogging will revolutionize the principles of community building” As it is stated in the book Blog. I agree with this statement. I feel that this new found technology will enable people to communicate on a much larger scale. I feel that people will be able to get their ideas out there, much easier than writing it in a magazine, because everyone has access to it. Unlike the magazine the blog is on the internet, it is very handy and available to anyone who enters the site.

Good--this meets the requirements of the assignment. (That it's a key metaphor means it's a way of understanding it--not that it's necessary for building community.)
